Trail description

A steep climb from Namata on the Askio side of the mountain to Siniatsiko, the 2,111 m summit of Mount Askio in Western Macedonia. Askio sits between Mount Vernon to the north and Mount Vourinos to the south, and it is among the higher mountains of Greece. The marked route gains close to 1,000 m in a short distance, leaving the trees behind for open, grassy slopes. From the top the views reach across the lakes and plains of Kozani and the surrounding ranges.
