Trail description
Pyrgos, at about 2,150 m, is the highest summit of Mount Oiti, the national park mountain above Lamia and the Spercheios valley. This route starts at the Greek Mountaineering Club refuge at Trapeza, where a small alpine tarn lies beside the hut, and crosses the high plateau south to the top. The trails of Oiti meet at the Trapeza refuge, at Greveno summit and at Pyrgos, so the peak links with other routes across the range. Many hikers stay overnight at the refuge, as the park authority advises spending at least two days to explore these routes.
