Profitis Ilias Summit (Falakro) from the Ski Centre Refuge

Trail description

A summit walk on Mount Falakro near Drama, from the refuge at the ski centre on the Agio Pnevma plateau (about 1,720 m) to Profitis Ilias, the highest peak at 2,232 m. The route crosses bare limestone slopes and passes close to the Chionotrypa cave just below the top. In summer the ski centre is the usual starting point for hikes to the summits. The climb is moderate and the name Falakro, meaning bald, describes the treeless upper mountain well.
