Nestos Gorge Trail from Galani to Kromniko

Trail description

The first section of the Nestos-Rodopi Trail, starting where the road ends in the Nestos gorge near Galani and climbing to the village of Kromniko in the Rodopi mountains. The official guide gives about 9.9 km and 4 hours 30 minutes for this stage. The path is well marked but narrow in places, with steep drops above the river, so it is not for anyone uneasy with exposure. It is part of the E6 and of a 66 km trail that continues on through Central Rodopi.
