The classic ascent of Mount Olympus, the mythical home of the Greek gods, from the Prionia trailhead. The path climbs through forest to Spilios Agapitos refuge (Refuge A) at 2,100 m, then over open scree to the summit of Skala at 2,882 m, where this route ends. The last stretch to Mytikas, at 2,918 m the highest point in Greece, is the Kakoskala, a steep and exposed rock scramble for experienced climbers only. Most people split the climb with a night at the refuge.
