Mount Dikti (Spathi) from Kaminaki

Trail description

A long climb to Spathi, at 2,148 m the highest peak of the Dikti mountains in eastern Crete. The route starts at the village of Kaminaki on the Lassithi plateau, at about 870 m, climbs to the Limnakaro plateau and continues to the summit on a well-marked section of the E4. The ascent is steep over very rocky ground and there is no water on the way. On a clear day the summit looks over both the Aegean and the Libyan Sea.
