Trail description
This ancient route climbs from the upper edge of Delphi to the Corycian Cave on the slopes of Mount Parnassus, a cave dedicated in antiquity to Pan and the Corycian Nymphs. The first part follows the E4 up the old mule path known as the Kaki Skala, the "evil steps", which climbs steeply above the sanctuary. Past a water source the route joins a dirt road, passes the stone church of Agia Triada and takes a final uphill path to the cave. In antiquity women walked up this way by torchlight for rites in November. The route is steep and rough, and summer heat makes it hard going.
