Dadia Forest

Trail description

A 5.5 km walk with about 200 m of climbing through the oak and pine hills of the Dadia Forest, starting 3 km west of the village of Dadia in Evros. The forest is a managed protected area of 7,290 ha and one of the most important places in Europe for birds of prey, the only forest in Europe where all four European vulture species can be seen. The wildfire of August 2023 burned just over half of the forest, and its recovery is expected to take decades.
