Trail description

Cape Tainaro at the tip of the Mani is the southernmost point of mainland Greece and of the whole Balkan Peninsula. A marked path of about 2.2 km leads from the church of Agioi Asomatoi at Kokkinogia, where the road ends, to the stone lighthouse built by French engineers in the 1880s. On the way it passes Aria beach and a well preserved Roman mosaic. The walk takes about 50 minutes each way over open, rocky ground with no shade, so bring water and a hat.
