Astraka Refuge from Tsepelovo (Tymfi)

Trail description

A long crossing of Mount Tymfi from the Zagori village of Tsepelovo to the Astraka refuge, which sits on the col between Astraka and Gamila above Papingo. It is often called the most isolated trail in Zagori, leaving the village on forest tracks and climbing onto the high, bare karst pastures of Tymfi. The route is about 12 km one way with a big climb, so most hikers plan a night at the refuge. From there, marked paths continue to the Drakolimni lake and the Gamila summit.
