Trail description

Andros Route 12 links the mountain villages of Arni and Vourkoti across the Petalo range, the highest mountains on Andros. From the church of Panagia in Arni, in what the Andros Routes network calls the most forested valley on the island, the path climbs to the chapel of Profitis Ilias and follows the ridge with wide views. The short stretch between the ridge and Profitis Ilias is the difficult part, and some sections near Arni can be overgrown. The route is 6.9 km with up to 630 m of height difference and takes about 2 hours 15 minutes; there is drinking water in both villages.
