Anopoli to Loutro

Trail description

An old mule road from the mountain village of Anopoli down to Loutro, the car-free harbour village on the south coast of Sfakia. From Anopoli the path rises to the church of Agia Ekaterini, with wide views, passes a small Turkish tower (koules) and then drops about 600 m down a steep slope to Loutro. The path is marked with a white square and a yellow dot and takes about 1.5 hours downhill. Loutro can only be reached on foot or by boat, so hikers usually return by ferry or continue along the coast.
