Trail description
Apollo Trail 2, the Trail of Light, follows in the footsteps of the ancient traveller Pausanias from the mountain town of Andritsaina to the Temple of Apollo Epicurius at Bassae, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. It starts at the Trani Vrisi fountain of 1724 and the plane tree in the village square, then crosses farmland and small villages. The last kilometres run along a ridge with views over much of the Peloponnese. The final stretch is inside the guarded archaeological site, so arrange access with the temple guard at least a day ahead or follow the signs to the main gate.
