Trail description

A circular walk through the wild north of Kythira, starting at the Amir Ali springs below Karavas. The route heads to the chapel of Agios Nikolaos between two sandy beaches near a small wetland, then follows one of the finest coastal stretches on the island toward Platia Ammos. On the way it passes the cave named after Paris and Helen, with views over the sea. The return runs beside a green ravine full of oleanders and plane trees, past old watermills, the hamlet of Vaggianika and the Portokalia spring. Part of the loop uses quiet village roads.
