Trail description
A section of the Arcadian Coast Path, an 80 km route along the wild coast of Kynouria. From the seaside village of Agios Andreas a goatherds path climbs across fields of prickly pear, then the real ascent begins through forest and across steep slopes. A terrace finds a way through the cliffs to the spectacularly placed monastery of Agios Georgios, which is uninhabited but has flowing water and basic shelter. The climb gains over 600 m, route finding needs care, and the path is best walked in spring or autumn rather than in the summer heat.
