Trail description

A 6.7 km climb from the Wendelstein cable car valley station at Osterhofen near Bayrischzell to the summit of the Wendelstein (1,838 m), one of the best-known mountains of the Bavarian Alps, with a wide panoramic view. About 100 m below the top stand the mountain inn, the cable car and cog railway stations, the transmitter and the Wendelstein chapel, and a paved path with many steps and switchbacks leads up the last 100 m to the top. The Wendelstein cave near the summit is open from May to November, depending on the weather.
