Trail description

A 4.7 km walk in Franconian Switzerland from Streitberg up to the Burgruine Neideck, the castle ruin high above the Wiesent valley that has become the landmark of the region, and on along the valley side to Muggendorf. First recorded in 1312 as a seat of the lords of Schlüsselberg, the freely accessible ruin keeps one of the largest residential towers in Franconia; since 2008 a stair leads up to the top of its 10 m walls.
