Trail description

A 10.4 km hike from Krün in the Karwendel up past the Fischbachalm to the Soiernhaus (1,611 m), built in 1866 as a royal hunting lodge for King Ludwig II, who did not hunt but enjoyed the quiet of the Soiern cirque and is said to have been rowed across its lakes by full moon. The two Soiern lakes lie about 70 m below the hut, under the Soiernspitze. From the Fischbachalm the Lakaiensteig is a more scenic variant for sure-footed hikers.
