Trail description
A 3.3 km climb from Bad Sachsa in the southern Harz to the Ravensberg (659 m), the steep cone left by a volcano of the Permian period, made mostly of rhyolite. On the top are the Berghof Ravensberg with its animal enclosure and a 64 m former listening tower. In GDR times it was, for people in the eastern Harz, the view into the unreachable golden West. Below the summit, by the Ravensbergstraße, stands the Dreiherrenstein, an old boundary stone.
