Pöhlberg Summit

Trail description

A 1.7 km walk from Annaberg-Buchholz up the Pöhlberg (831 m) in the Ore Mountains, the remnant of an ancient lava flow whose basalt forms impressive columns on its western and northern slopes. The 35 m lookout tower, built in 1896 for Annaberg's 400th anniversary, has an inn and hotel beside it, and the view reaches over Annaberg-Buchholz to the Scheibenberg and the Auersberg.
