Platte Steinwald

Trail description

A 3.8 km hike in the Steinwald from the Weissenstein hikers' car park past the castle ruin of Weißenstein and along the Steinwald ridge to the Platte (946 m), the highest point of the Steinwald, a granite ridge in the southern Fichtelgebirge. On top stands the 35 m Oberpfalzturm, climbed by 150 steps, with views in clear weather as far as the Ore Mountains and the Bavarian Forest.
