Kösseine from Luisenburg

Trail description

A 3.3 km climb in the Fichtelgebirge from the Luisenburg near Wunsiedel to the Kösseine (939 m), whose granite top, ringed by a protected boulder sea of 15.8 ha, carries the Kösseinehaus of the Fichtelgebirge Club, opened in 1903, and a stone lookout tower from 1924. The view reaches the Bavarian Forest, the Rhön, the Thuringian Forest and the Ore Mountains; Goethe came here in 1785 and 1820 and drew the granite rocks of the Kösseine.
