Hochuferweg Binz to Sellin

Trail description

A 5.7 km walk on Rügen along the Hochuferweg from the eastern end of Binz to the pier at Sellin, through the Granitz, a wooded ridge of pushed-up terminal moraine whose northern and eastern edges fall to the Baltic in a steep cliff. Its beech and sessile oak forest is a 982 ha nature reserve and has been part of the Südost-Rügen Biosphere Reserve since 1991. On the way stands the Waldhalle, an inn built on the Falkenberg in 1888.
