Belvedere and Brodaer Holz from Broda

Trail description

A 5.1 km walk from the Brodaer Strand on the north-western shore of the Tollensesee in Neubrandenburg, up the stairs to the Belvedere and on through the Brodaer Holz towards the Gatsch-Eck. Duke Adolf Friedrich IV had a half-timbered summer house built on the heights here in 1775 and named it Belvedere, beautiful view; the outline of the present building recalls a Greek temple, and it looks far out over the lake. The Brodaer Holz, 860 ha of forest along the west shore, is crossed by signposted paths.
