Dzhuta - Zeleno Ozero Meadows

Trail description

A 12.9 km trek from the village of Juta, at about 2,200 m, up the valley beneath the rocky peaks of the Chaukhi massif and over the Chaukhi Pass, at 3,338 m, then down past the Blue Lake of Abudelauri to the meadows of the Green Lake, at 2,586 m. The route follows the waymarked Chaukhi Pass Trail, which continues down the valley to Roshka. The climb to the pass and the descent from it are steep, rocky mountain paths graded demanding mountain hiking, so this is a serious high-mountain day in Kazbegi.
