Trail description
The walk starts at the car park on the Col de Bavella (1,218 m), below the Aiguilles de Bavella, where a statue of Notre-Dame-des-Neiges stands, and follows the signposted path from the col to the Trou de la Bombe through a forest of laricio pines. It ends at the foot of the rock below the Trou de la Bombe; the final, delicate scramble up into the hole is not part of the route. The hole, known in Corsican as U Tafonu di u Cumpuleddu, is a natural feature carved by erosion close to the Punta Velacu. The walk is about 2.9 km one way, with some 130 m of climbing.
