Trail description

The walk starts in Banyuls-sur-Mer, one end of the GR 10 path across the Pyrenees, and follows the GR 10 inland to the Coll dels Gascons. From the col it climbs the old paved road, closed to motor vehicles, to the Tour Madeloc, where it ends. The round schist tower dates from the 13th century and is attributed to King James II of Majorca; it was part of a network of signal towers, including the Tour de la Massane, used to warn the population of attacks. Today it carries a television relay. The walk is about 6.0 km one way, with some 620 m of climbing.
