From the hamlet of L'Écot above Bonneval-sur-Arc a mountain path climbs to the Refuge du Carro at 2,764 m, close to the Lac Noir and the Lac Blanc. About 14.1 km out and back with some 739 m of climbing. This is high ground: weather turns fast and snow can linger into July.
