Trail description

A 3.4 km climb of about 365 m from the Col de Ceyssat up the Chemin des Muletiers to the summit of the Puy de Dôme, 1,464 m, past the Temple of Mercury. The lava dome formed in an eruption about 10,700 years ago and is one of the youngest volcanoes of the Chaîne des Puys. It stands about 10 km from Clermont-Ferrand.
