Mont Aigoual

Trail description

A 3.4 km walk of about 130 m of climbing to the summit of Mont Aigoual, at 1,565 m the highest point of the Gard, on the border with Lozere in the southern Massif Central. The mountain is known for its panorama, its harsh climate and the weather observatory on its top. Its forests and pastures were overused in the 19th century, causing severe floods.
