Grand Ballon depuis le Markstein

Trail description

A 7.2 km ridge walk with about 340 m of climbing from Le Markstein along the Route des Crêtes area to the Grand Ballon, at 1,424 m the highest summit of the Vosges. The path crosses open summit pastures (the chaumes) with wide views over the Alsace plain to the Black Forest and the Alps. A radar dome and a monument stand on the top.
