Trail description
The walk leaves the car park in Le Frasnois on the Chemin de la Vierge, continues south-east on forest tracks and finishes on the GR 559A at the Belvédère des Quatre Lacs. The viewpoint looks over the lakes of Narlay, Ilay, Petit Maclu and Grand Maclu, all of glacial origin; Narlay is the deepest at 48 m, and the island in the Lac d'Ilay was already inhabited in the Neolithic. The lakes are a Natura 2000 and Ramsar site where swimming is banned and visitors are asked to keep to the marked paths. The walk is about 4.4 km one way with some 175 m of climbing.
