Elimyssalo

Trail description

A walk through the Elimyssalo wilderness reserve near Kuhmo, a tract of pristine old-growth taiga close to the Russian border. The trail passes the Saari-Kiekki shelter, crosses the Leväsuo and Suurisuo mires on the Korpitaival route and comes close to the shore of Elimysjärvi near the end. A peaceful walk in a remote corner of Kainuu, in the range of the wild forest reindeer.
