Piusa Caves Nature Trail

Trail description

A sandy forest loop around the old Piusa sand caves in southeastern Estonia, dug for glassmaking and now the largest bat hibernation site in Eastern Europe. From the visitor centre the trail passes the cave entrances and winds through pine forest over pale dunes. An easy, unusual walk.
