El Mogote (Jarabacoa)

Trail description

A 3.1 km ascent via the El Mogote Trail in Baiguate National Park to the summit of El Mogote, approximately 1,525 m high, located south of Jarabacoa near the Santa María del Evangelio Cistercian monastery. Slopes reach up to 50 degrees, requiring hikers to scramble using roots and branches amidst tall pines, shrubs, vines, and wild raspberries. On clear days, the summit offers views of Jarabacoa and the Cordillera Central.
