Sendero Palenque de los Cimarrones

Trail description

A short walk to Palenque de los Cimarrones, located in the north of the Viñales Valley, once a refuge for runaway slaves in the 19th century. From the road, the path passes through the Cueva de San Miguel and emerges at the palenque on the other side of the mogote, before returning via the same route. Less than 1 km round trip, almost flat.
