El Cocuy Laguna Grande

Trail description

A high trek in the glaciated Sierra Nevada del Cocuy to Laguna Grande de la Sierra, a lake ringed by snow peaks. The trail crosses paramo and rock at extreme altitude to the shore beneath some of the last glaciers in Colombia. Entry to El Cocuy National Park needs registration with Parques Nacionales and a local guide; check the current rules for this sector before going.
