Rucapillán Villarrica

Trail description

A steep 1.9 km climb of about 450 m on Villarrica, from about 2,380 m to about 2,820 m near the summit crater. Villarrica, also called Rucapillan, is one of Chile's most active volcanoes, rising above the lake and town of the same name about 750 km south of Santiago. The Mapuche name is usually translated as house of the great spirit.
