Trail description

A flat 1.2 km walk from the Paseo Costanera in Valdivia across to Isla Teja. The island is ringed by three rivers, the Cau-Cau to the north, the Cruces to the west and the Valdivia to the south-east. It was known as isla Valenzuela until the mid-19th century, after the encomendero Francisco de Valenzuela who settled there in 1552, and took its present name from its roof tile (teja) and brick factory.
