Dichato

Trail description

A flat 0.8 km walk along the seafront Costanera of Dichato on Coliumo Bay, near Tome. The tsunami of 27 February 2010 destroyed most of the town's flat sector, and reconstruction in 2011 to 2013 built an 800 m coastal defence wall with a promenade, a tsunami mitigation park and a new boulevard. The bay is very sheltered, with calm but very cold water, and outside summer the town lives mainly from artisanal fishing.
