Trail description
The walk starts at the south-west end of the Costanera in Panguipulli and follows the Ciclovía Costanera along the shore of Lake Panguipulli, past the viewpoint and the pier, then continues on Av. Roberto Bravo past the Playa Municipal. Near the pier stands the monument to the founders of Panguipulli, a work by the sculptor Osvaldo Peña that honors the Capuchin missionaries, the pioneers and the Mapuche. The town was officially founded in 1946, although written records of its name go back to 1776. The lake covers about 116 km², reaches 268 m at its deepest and drains into Lake Riñihue through the Enco River. The walk is about 1.4 km one way and flat.
