Trail description
The loop starts at Plaza de Justicia in Valparaíso's lower town and climbs the Subida El Peral stairs to the Paseo Yugoslavo, a public promenade with a wide view of the bay beside the Palacio Baburizza. It then crosses Cerro Alegre by Lautaro Rosas and Almirante Montt to the Paseo Dimalow and comes back down by Calle Urriola, the street that separates Cerro Alegre from Cerro Concepción. The two hills were built up largely by English and German immigrants from the first half of the 19th century and form one of the five sectors of Valparaíso's historic quarter, inscribed on UNESCO's World Heritage List in 2003. The loop is about 1.9 km, with some 90 m of climbing.
