Cascada de las Ánimas

Trail description

Guided out-and-back walk in the Cascada de las Ánimas nature sanctuary at San Alfonso in the Cajón del Maipo, about 40 minutes from Santiago, from the ecotourism centre up the waterfall trail to a cascade of around 50 m. The private sanctuary covers some 3,600 hectares of mountains, valleys, streams and waterfalls. The walk is easy and takes about an hour there and back, with a guide explaining the local plants and wildlife. Visits are only possible on the sanctuary's guided tours at set times, with advance booking and an entry fee.
