Trail description
A short, flat 0.6 km walk to Ahu Tongariki, on the coast of the Hotu-iti area of Rapa Nui National Park, one kilometre from Rano Raraku and Poike. It is the largest ahu on Easter Island. Its moai were toppled during the island's civil wars, and in the twentieth century the platform was swept inland by a tsunami. It has since been restored with fifteen moai, including one of 86 tonnes, the heaviest ever erected on the island.
