Spirit Sands

Trail description

A 3.1 km loop with about 30 m of climbing and descent on the Spirit Sands and Dune trails from the Devil's Punch Bowl trailhead in Spruce Woods Provincial Park, Manitoba. The park lies where the Assiniboine River crosses a delta of sediment left by the last glaciation. Its open and stabilised sand dunes support plants and animals found nowhere else in Manitoba; it became a provincial park in 1964.
