Trail description

Easy Kluane National Park and Reserve trail from a pullout on the Haines Highway, 60 km south of Haines Junction, following an old recreation road through spruce and aspen forest and a sub-alpine valley to St. Elias Lake between 1,370 m mountains. Parks Canada lists it at 7.6 km return, 2 to 4 hours; it is family-friendly and a popular overnight trip, for which a wilderness permit and bear-resistant food canisters are required.
