Miles Canyon

Trail description

A 2.8 km loop with about 45 m of climbing from the Miles Canyon suspension bridge over the Yukon River, returning along the Lower Canyon City trail, south of Whitehorse. The canyon walls are basalt lava flows that erupted across an old pre-glacial landscape. Miles Canyon is where these Miles Canyon Basalts are best exposed and easiest to see, where the Yukon River cuts through a succession of flows.
