Trail description

Trail from the Cabot Trail at the top of MacKenzie Mountain, 355 m above sea level, down about six kilometres to Fishing Cove, a small ocean cove and grassy clearing that was once a Scottish fishing community and holds the only designated wilderness campsite in Cape Breton Highlands National Park. Parks Canada rates it difficult: 12 km return, 5 to 6 hours, with a steep descent, some muddy sections and no potable water. A national park admission fee applies and campers must register at a visitor centre.
