Trail description

Mostly level trail from the Cabot Trail just north of the Clyburn River up the Clyburn Valley in Cape Breton Highlands National Park, past stands of hardwood, boulders bigger than cars, old beaver ponds, meadows and apple trees to the remains of an old gold mine below Franey Mountain. Parks Canada rates it easy: 8.5 km return, 2 to 3 hours, with rough sections where the trail floods, and it is not maintained beyond the gold mine. A national park admission fee applies.
