Vezhen Peak from Vezhen Hut

Trail description

Vezhen hut sits in the Tsarichina reserve on the northern slopes of Vezhen, reached by a 17 km gravel road from Ribaritsa. A well-marked path climbs through old conifer forest and splits near the treeline into two summer paths, avalanche-prone in winter, and a winter route marked with iron poles that is often faint in grass, juniper and stones. All lead to the broad summit plateau and the 2,198 m top.
